If you need to make a life insurance claim, the first step is to contact 1300 Life Insurance or get in touch with AIA Australia's Claims Team direct by phone on 1800 333 613 or by email at au.retail.claims@aia.com.

You will need to have the following information available to help them handle your claim as efficiently as possible:

  • your policy number
  • your contact details
  • dull details of the reason for your claim
  • the date of the injury or sickness being diagnosed

If you purchased your life insurance cover through your superfund the Trustee will need to make the claim on your behalf.

How quickly will my claim be processed?

The speed of processing claims will vary on the type of policy and the information you will need to provide to verify your claim. This is likely to include statements and certificates from your doctor or specialists, permission forms to allow AIA to access your Medicare and PBS records, and documents to prove your identity.
